Welcome Curlers!
Gay Curling has existed in Toronto since 1962. What started with a handful of interested curlers has expanded to two full leagues boasting more than 200 members and ties to gay curling associations across Canada.

Riverdale Curling League meets Sundays and Rotators Curling League meets Wednesday evenings. Both curling leagues welcome novice or experienced curlers and sponsor yearly bonspiels. Traditionally, these bonspiels are attended by gay men and lesbians from across Canada and provide our curlers with opportunities for fun competition and lasting friendships.

  What is Curling?
Curling is more than a sport. Besides a cardiovascular workout, challenging strategy and team cooperation, curlers enjoy a wonderful off-ice atmosphere of camaraderie which is unmatched in other winter team sports. Integrity, a sense of fair play and friendly competition are all hallmarks of the sport. It is also one of the few sports where men and women of all ages can compete equally.

Apart from friendly on-ice competition, curlers enjoy a wonderful off-ice tradition. After each game, players retreat to the lounge where they socialise, share curling experiences, discuss strategy or just enjoy friendly conversation over food or drinks. Many lasting friendships (yes, even relationships!) have their roots in the curling lounge.

Both leagues curl at the Royal Canadian Curling Club. The Royals is located minutes from downtown Toronto at 131 Broadview Ave., and offers a gay friendly atmosphere, a licensed lounge, restaurant, piano and large screen TV.

So why not contact us and discover a new way to beat those winter blues?
